Sam Harrison, Senior Analyst
With a background in energy systems engineering and economics, Sam has worked for governments, utilities, and NGOs on climate and energy policy since 2015.
Sam joins Navius with experience in the utilities sector and the public service. During and after his undergraduate studies, he worked for the provincial governments in Ontario and BC on electricity market oversight, low carbon fuels policy, and carbon pricing. Most recently, he worked in DSM planning and load forecasting for utilities across North America.
Sam holds a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Science (Energy Systems Specialization) with an economics minor from the University of Toronto. His thesis was written on developing a model to evaluate the effect of carbon pricing policy design on emissions and consumer prices in Ontario’s unique electricity sector.
Outside of work, Sam spends his free time hiking, biking, skiing, and climbing. When not exploring the outdoors, he enjoys baking sourdough and trying new things in the kitchen.
