Evaluating the impact of combining an oil and gas emissions cap with Canadian industrial carbon pricing systems

Summary
The Canadian Climate Institute (CCI) released an analysis discussing the impact of combining industrial carbon pricing with the proposed oil and gas emissions cap. The analysis draws on modeling from Navius to quantify the projected emissions reductions from each policy. Industrial carbon pricing and the oil and gas emissions cap target similar abatement actions, meaning the policies will achieve less emissions reductions when implemented together than the sum of reductions each policy would deliver on its own.
